ABOUT ME
Since as long as I can remember I have enjoyed tinkering with things to figure out how they work. It was therefore fairly obvious that I would end up doing research in some science or engineering related program. During my BSc. at the University of Utrecht, I co-founded the Dutch Aibo Team, and worked on creating an intelligent football team that participated at the Robocup Soccer championship. That sparked my interest in Artificial Intelligence in general and Intelligent Agents in particular.
I am a Marie Sklodowski-Curie COFUND fellow at the IIIA-CSIC and Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, working on the project "Socio-cognitive Simulation for Advancing Digital Education", which combines aspects of agent technology and learning analytics in technology-enhanced learning environments.
Until May2016, I was a research scientist at Samsung Research Institute in Campinas, Brazil. I am working on the Digital Education Solutions Team where I apply Artificial Intelligence techniques to improve digital education platforms.
In 2012 and 2013, after completing my PhD, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, working on inter-vehicular communication. In particular, on addressing the uncertainty and trust in the content of messages sent between vehicles.
